Organic Soul
The idea of a soul, as per its definition, is some kind of spiritual or immaterial form that transcends the embodiment of a person or thing in reality. It works as a second form of being, one that lives in harmony with the physical state. As someone who feels deeply connected to heavily forested spaces and bodies of water, I find nature to be one of the most soul-filled subjects that can be found on Earth. It has shown itself to be a force that embodies all that is calming, restorative, and most importantly, organic in a world that grows suffocatingly artificial with each passing day.
Using long exposure, Organic Soul captures nature in its many different forms, a body of work that spans from wider, recognizable landscapes to smaller portions of a singular subject. Much like the work of early Impressionists, the project is meant to combat the importance of a distinguishable form, choosing instead to capture in a singular image the fervor of nature’s essence as one experiences it in multiple fragments of time.
